Getting Nasty

Our route to Vail

This past winter break my friends and I decided to take a short road trip to Vail, Colorado to do so serious skiing. So Tommy, Larry, Eric, Allen, and I all packed up our bags and left from Sterling, VA around 9:00am. We figured the trip would take approx. 27 hours, but boy were we wrong!! The worst storm to hit the country in a long time was brewing!! So we decided to take a more southern route so that we could avoid all the ice and snow. The route that we decided to take(40) added an additional 500 miles onto the total. But we were well rested at the time. We had too take take two cars so that we could fit all of our luggage, have room for our skis and have a bed in the back so that one person could be sleeping. Tommy and Allen volunteered their cars for the truck across the U.S. So we had a four door Saturn and a Volvo station wagon. The bed was set up in the back of the wagon, and it was pretty comfy if I could say so myself. Well we started at about 10:00 Thursday morning. I started off in the bed, Tommy and Allen both started off in the drivers seat. Everyone was excited to finally get on the road, we had been waiting for this for the past year. As we drove towards route 81 visions of suger plums (ski bunnys) start dancing through my head. We had previously decided to drive none stop to Vail, with these guys non-stop Me in the car means non-stop! We didn't stop to eat, pee, or anything other than gas. We lived off of gas station food for the whole 36 hours of our trip out there. Beef jerky and chilidogs was the main staple of our diet. When I have time to finish this I will but for now I will give you a brief summory of what happened. Basically the car ride to and from CO was crazy, it snowed the hole time we where there which provided us with the best conditions ever, we all had a blast, and ripped #@$% up! I have a few pics that I want to put up but just click on the icon below to see photot album stlye.
(this is slow) or just look at the thumbnails below (underconstruction!)

This section will have more of the same story but this time in greater detail. It will go on to talk about every aspect of out trip from leaving
At 10 in the morning to Allen's "Ah Kanas" shirt including the injuryed bird
The beef jerky patties, and beef jerky dip (Tommy). My frozen bag lunches and the comedian at the top of the mountain. I will also talk about the swing club, the hot tub, all the snow, hide the bean, lose the bean
skiing the back-bowls, getting phat air, our cycle of runs, everything else that I can think of and then I will add a section here where Tommy, Larry, Eric, or Allen can write me to add other things that I may have forgotten.
